Enter the competition
Inspired by the famous Golden Spurtle, the annual World Porridge Making Championships, held in Carrbridge, Scotland — the Pearly Spurtle brings a distinctly local twist to this time honoured competition. Participants will go head-to-head in both traditional and creative categories showcasing everything from classic techniques to bold, imaginative flavours — a winner will be named in both.
An overall Pearly Spurtle Champion will be chosen by the judges who will receive return flights to Edinburgh, Scotland, to represent Australia at the World Porridge-Making Championships in Carrbridge in October 2026.

Traditional Porridge
Competitors will battle to create the perfect traditional bowl using oats, water and salt and will be judged on technique, texture and flavour.
